Terms of Service

Last updated: October 30, 2026

These terms cover the websites, hosting, email and media services MediaCor provides. When you order a plan or agree to a project with us, you agree to these terms. We kept them in plain English, and if anything is unclear, just ask.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Our services

  • Your plan covers what is listed on our Plans page: hosting, business email, SSL, backups, setting up or moving your site, and help by email or phone.
  • Work beyond your plan is $65 an hour. We agree on the work and the estimate before we start, and an email counts.
  • Domain registration is separate and billed at or near cost.
  • Some extras, like a newsletter or automatic social sharing service, bill you directly and follow their own terms.

Billing and renewal

  • Plans are billed once a year, in advance, and renew on the date you started.
  • Invoices are due within 30 days. After that, we may add a late fee of 1.5% a month on the unpaid balance, and we may pause your services until it's paid. We'll always reach out first, and we're happy to work with you.
  • We renew your domain before it expires as long as your account is up to date.
  • Plan prices can change, but never in the middle of a year you've already paid for. We'll let you know at least 30 days before a new price applies at renewal.

Cancelling

  • You can cancel any time through our client support portal, or by contacting Peter at info@mediacoronline.com or (503) 967-5723. We'll confirm it in writing.
  • Your plan won't renew, and your site stays up through the end of the year you've paid for.
  • If you cancel within 30 days of the date your account is set up, we'll refund your full plan fee.
  • After 30 days, we'll refund the unused part of your plan year, prorated from the date your account was set up. Cancelling through the support portal works this out for you automatically.
  • You're never locked in. Before you go, we'll export your site and help you move your domain and email, so you can take it all with you.

Your content and your site

  • Your words, photos, logo and videos are yours. Your domain is registered in your name, so it is yours too. If you move it elsewhere and have paid for extra years in advance, we'll refund the years you haven't used.
  • You are responsible for having the right to use anything you give us for your site, like photos, music, fonts and text.
  • Design work we create just for you is yours once it is paid for. The website platform, with its templates and tools, belongs to the company that makes it and comes to you through your plan.
  • We may show your site in our portfolio. If you would rather we didn't, just tell us.

Using your site and email responsibly

Your website and email can't be used for anything illegal, harmful or abusive. That includes:

  • Spam or bulk email. Send newsletters and mass mailings through a newsletter service like Mailchimp, not your business email account.
  • Viruses, phishing, hacking tools or anything that attacks other systems
  • Content that copies someone else's work without permission
  • Content that is illegal, harassing or threatening

If something breaks these rules, we may take it down or pause the account. We'll contact you first unless it's urgent, like an active security threat.

Backups

We keep regular backups of your site as part of your plan, and we'll help you restore it if something goes wrong. Backups are a safety net, not a guarantee, so please keep your own copies of important files, photos and documents.

Health and other sensitive information

Our websites, forms and email are not set up to store or send protected health information under HIPAA, or other highly sensitive data like Social Security numbers or full card numbers. Please don't collect that kind of information through your site or email unless we've agreed in writing on a setup that meets those rules. You are responsible for following the privacy laws that apply to your own business.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on a site we host uses your copyrighted work without permission, send a written notice to our copyright agent that includes:

  • Your name, mailing address, phone number and email
  • The work you believe was copied
  • The web address where the material appears
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner
  • Your physical or electronic signature

When we receive a complete notice, we'll remove or disable the material and let the site owner know. If the owner believes it was removed by mistake, they can send us a counter notice. We end service for clients who repeatedly infringe.

Requests from law enforcement

We don't share client information unless the law requires it. If we receive a valid subpoena, court order or warrant, we'll comply, and we'll tell you about it unless the law says we can't.

Uptime and our responsibility

We work hard to keep your site and email running, but no service is perfect, and we can't promise it will never go down. Our services are provided as is.

As far as the law allows, MediaCor isn't responsible for lost profits, lost data or other indirect losses. If something goes wrong because of us, the most we are responsible for is what you paid us for that service in the 12 months before the problem.

If someone makes a claim against MediaCor because of content on your site or the way you use our services, you agree to cover the costs of that claim.

Pausing or ending service

We may pause or end service if an account goes unpaid, breaks these terms, or puts our systems or other clients at risk. Except in an emergency, we'll contact you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Oregon law

These terms follow Oregon law. If we ever disagree, let's talk it through first. If we can't settle it, it will be handled in the courts of Multnomah County, Oregon.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here, update the date at the top, and email current clients about any important changes.
